Original Deck of Cards

At 5 am it was 50 degrees in my driveway.  That was the warmest it would be all day.

A front moving across the country dumped rain here and as soon as it passed the temperatures dropped and will continue to drop through the night.

There are not too many days where it actually is raining during the hours of 5:30-7 am for some reason, so we are usually able to get in the workout despite approaching weather.  Today, however, it was wet.

I decided that we needed more work on our burpees after last weeks Burpee Madness workout.  That one was a 20 minute single exercise workout where we completed 199 burpees.  We did them on the minute every minute for 20 minutes with varying rep schemes.  It was tough, but I couldnt help but think that we do plenty of workouts way tougher than that one.  The first one that came to mind was my favorite deck of cards workout where we simply do burpees for all black cards and pushups for all red cards.  By my math, that is 196 of each (face cards = 10, aces = 11).

So we tried that one today with the smallest group I can remember in quite some time.  Thank you to Michael and Alan Lebovitz (The Lebovitz family gets a gold star for attendance) and Kim Ray for joining me this morning.

This one took us about 27 minutes but I did not keep time.

So, if you want to try it for yourself:

For Time:

Burpee for all black cards

Push-up for all red cards

Face = 10

Aces = 11

Jokers = to be designated on day of workout

Post total time.
